Gables Bagels

Gables Bagels makes kettle-boiled, oven-baked bagels, sandwiches and coffee. The Bloomington shop is at 421 East 3rd Street, and the business lists a second Bloomington location at 200 E. Kirkwood Ave. and a third shop in Zionsville.

Owner Ed Schwartzman and his wife also own BuffaLouie's, and the bagels began as a pandemic project run as a ghost kitchen there. Indiana Public Media described the 3rd Street shop in 2023 as a new bagel shop near IU selling freshly baked bagels and house-made spreads. The bagels arrive par-baked and flash-frozen from a New Jersey supplier and are finished fresh in the shop.

The storefront regularly had lines around the block in 2023, so expect a wait at busy times.
