About Lennie’s Brewpub
Lennie’s is a pizza restaurant and brewpub at 514 E. Kirkwood Avenue in Bloomington. It introduced gourmet pizza to town in 1989 and added Southern Indiana’s first brewpub in 1994. Lennie’s moved to its current Kirkwood location in 2019.
Its pizza guide also mentions veggie and vegan options and gluten-free dough. The taps pour Bloomington Brewing Company beer and Friendly Beasts Cider. The brewery itself was sold to new owners in 2022, and the founders said the sale did not affect Lennie’s. Lennie’s says it supports local farmers and holds 3 Star Certified Green Restaurant status.
Jeff Mease and Lennie Busch opened the restaurant in 1989. In 2023 they sold it to longtime team members Michael Fox and Samantha Ezzo. Lennie’s says regulars include IU professors after class and groups heading out from IU Auditorium shows.
The website lists hours of 11am to 10pm Sunday through Thursday and 11am to 11pm Friday and Saturday, which may change. You can order online or reserve a table through OpenTable or by phone.
