Most of our students are boys and girls ranging in age between three and eighteen. Our students attend regular classes to strengthen their skills and learn an appreciation for dance. We have an annual One Step Above recital. The recital is usually held at a local high school in either March or April. Students who participate in dance classes during the August – April semester will have the opportunity to perform in one of the recital shows. During the recital semester, each child will purchase a costume and shoes. Instead of an admission charge, each family pays a recital fee and may invite unlimited friends and family to the performance. You also purchase costume wear.
We have a schedule similar to the school year. We have one large session, and one small summer session, per year. Classes are offered Monday through Saturday during both semesters. You may enroll by coming to fall registration.
Several of our advanced students have chosen to join the One Step Above Dance Company and compete. Membership in the OSA Dance Company requires both time and financial commitments from each student and their family. Each company routine performs at two or three regional competitions each year. Some years the studio will attend a National competition in June. Regional competitions could be in Indianapolis or in surrounding states. Attendance at regional or national competitions (or all company performances) is MANDATORY for all company members.
