The Hawaiian Hoosier in Ellettsville serves Hawaiian plate lunches and Spam musubi, plus snacks and gifts, and won a 2025 local chamber award.
About The Hawaiian Hoosier
The Hawaiian Hoosier is a Hawaiian restaurant and snack and gift shop at 120 W Temperance St in Ellettsville. Founder Stacie Marotta opened it in August 2024, after her homemade snack mix became the seed of the business.
The menu includes plate lunches, Spam musubi, chicken katsu, teriyaki chicken, kalua pork and ube specialties, along with island-inspired baked goods. Local press also mentions a barbecue beef plate and fried rice, plus the signature Aloha Mix and wasabi popcorn. Meals can be ordered for pickup or delivery.
The Greater Ellettsville Area Chamber of Commerce named it the 2025 small business Chamber Award of Excellence winner. The Indiana Daily Student called it one of the only Hawaiian restaurants between Indianapolis and Evansville. It also hosts a free monthly kids' club, the Live Aloha Keiki Club.
The shop's site lists Wednesday through Saturday hours, which may change, so call (812) 876-8818 before you go.
