Serving nearly 600 girls in Monroe County, we strive to meet the needs of the girls in our community through exciting, research-driven programming, sound mentoring, and our supportive, all-girl environment. We help girls and young women overcome the effects of gender inequities that continue to exist in our society. We exist to empower girls to become responsible, self-reliant, successful women.

New Hope Family Shelter’s mission is to provide temporary shelter for homeless families in Bloomington and Monroe County and, in collaboration with other agencies, to help those families regain housing by addressing the problems that led to homelessness.We expect some families to be ready to move on to independent housing quickly, within a few days, opening their place up to another family. Some families will need a longer stay, up to 90 days, to complete programs that prepare them for jobs, their own housing, and independence. Over the course of a year we will serve between 12 and 30 families. Our case manager will continue to work with families for up to a year after they leave New Hope.
