Vineyard and tasting room on E Robinson Rd making Indiana wine since 1983, with live music, a wine club and tastings.

About Butler Winery & Vineyard

Butler Winery has made wines from Indiana-grown grapes since 1983 at its vineyard at 6200 E Robinson Rd. Jim and Susie Butler are pictured in front of their new winery that year, and Jim had earlier been winemaker at Oliver Winery from 1977 to 1982.

The winery describes itself as one of Indiana's oldest. Visitors can sit on the deck overlooking the vineyard, and flights of five wines come with table service. Groups of up to eight can book a private guided tasting in the Barrel Room by reservation. Live music is performed in the pavilion in season, with Sunday concerts listed May to October. Dogs are welcome on leash in the pavilion and picnic areas. The site lists tasting room hours of Monday to Saturday 10am to 6pm and Sunday noon to 6pm, which may change.

Jim Butler also led the petition for the Indiana Uplands American Viticultural Area, approved in 2013, and co-wrote the book Indiana Wine: A History with his son John.
