Since 1917, the Monroe County Chapter of the American Red Cross has provided disaster relief, services to Armed Forces, emergency preparedness and lifesaving programs to Bloomington and the surrounding communities.
Monroe County CASA is a volunteer-powered program which provides representation in juvenile court for child victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect. The program recruits, screens, trains, and supervises adult community members who volunteer their time to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs), with full legal authority set forth by the State of Indiana. CASAs provide advocacy to child victims to ensure that they remain at the forefront of the court proceedings and find a safe, permanent home as quickly as possible.

The Monroe County History Center is a non-profit museum, genealogy/local history research library, educational facility and museum gift store that is housed in the historical Monroe County Carnegie Library. The History Center is operated by the 102 year old Monroe County Historical Society, Inc. and is self-sustaining. The Society is dedicated to the preservation and exhibition of the history of Monroe County. Our collections include materials and artifacts that reflect the shared heritage of our local area. We hope to show, through the use of these artifacts, how Monroe County fits into the context of southern Indiana, the Midwest, and the Nation as a whole.
MCHA is dedicated to promoting the welfare of animals, strengthening the human-animal bond, and providing access to accessible veterinary care and humane education across our community. We do not oversee a shelter or the care of adoptable animals.
Monroe County Martial Arts (MCMA) offers more styles of martial arts than any other program in the area and is recognized as the leader in martial arts. In addition to the Korean art of Tae Kwon Do, MCMA has top notch instructors in a variety of systems from around the globe. We offer ten different martial arts.

The Y is a nonprofit organization that brings kids, adults and families closer together. The Y encourages good health and fosters connections through fitness, indoor pools, sports, fun and shared interests. The Y has programs for all ages.
Respite and Long-term care. A nurse is on duty during daytime hours, and on call 24 hours a day. Personal attendants are available around the clock. Studio units have two emergency response systems, one-bedroom units have three systems. Two licensed program directors are on staff to provide recreational and social activities.
