In 2022 the Herald-Times noted that there were other Riviera Maya restaurants in Anderson, Fishers and Lafayette.
The Herald-Times reported that the Bloomington restaurant was set to open Dec. 1, 2022, after permit and construction delays. Before opening, the paper described a menu with a full page of steaks and seafood, naming street tacos and a seafood chipotle dish with grilled shrimp, scallops and pineapple as favorites. Today's online menus have sections for seafood favorites, fajitas, specialties of the house and steaks, and street tacos with a choice of steak, chicken, lengua or al pastor.
The paper said the room would seat about 300 and include a bar with the restaurant's own tequila, with tiles and stones imported from Mexico.
The restaurant offers takeout and table reservations through its ordering site. Posted hours run late on Friday and Saturday, but they may change, so call 812-822-3535 to check.
