Heartwork Brewing

Heartwork Brewing is an independent, local, family-owned and veteran-owned brewery at 1703 N College Ave. It was founded in 2021 and opened on Nov. 30, 2023. The brewers work in small batches with an emphasis on lagers, and a taplist posted Oct. 13, 2026 includes a Czech Pilsner, Festbier, Munich Dunkel, a West Coast IPA, a nitro American Stout and a gluten-free seltzer.

The kitchen makes pizza from dough that is cold-fermented for 3+ days and baked in an Italian-made open-flame oven, with kitchen hours of Wednesday through Sunday, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. To-go crowlers are available.

The building is across from Miller Showers Park and about a 12 minute walk (0.4 miles) from Memorial Stadium and Assembly Hall. Inside are four 75-inch TVs, pinball, shuffleboard and 60+ retro arcade games, and the brewery says it was voted Best Sports Bar in Bloomington by The Herald-Times in 2024 and 2025. Supervised minors are welcome, and well-behaved dogs can use the patio. A Sunday run club meets at 11:30 a.m., and the private room, beer hall and taproom can be booked for events. The Bloomington Chamber named Heartwork New Business of the Year in 2025. Hours vary by day, so check the website for the current schedule.
