Poindexter

Poindexter is a coffee shop and bar inside the Graduate by Hilton hotel at 210 E. Kirkwood Ave., just steps from the Indiana University campus. It says it began almost a decade ago as a cozy coffee shop. The Indiana Daily Student reported that it added a liquor license in July 2025 and finished bar renovations that October. The Bloomington shop is the largest Poindexter in the Graduate Hotels chain.

Shelves of colorful cookie jars line the room, a nod to Grannie's Cookie Jars & Ice Cream Parlor in Metamora, Indiana. The menu runs from coffee, pastries and all-day bites such as burgers and wraps to cocktails, and the bar also pours beer and wine. The breakfast burrito is a long-standing favorite.

The site lists coffee service from 6:30 AM and the bar from 4 PM until midnight; hours may change. Hotel guests, students and locals are all welcome, and the space is pitched for study breaks and late-night hangs.
