About The Upstairs Pub
The Upstairs Pub is a sports bar on the second floor of historic Dunnkirk Square on Kirkwood Avenue, one block from the Sample Gates. It says it has been on Kirkwood for over 40 years. Crazy Horse's site lists it among three businesses owned by Two Rats, Inc., along with Crazy Horse and The Alley Bar.
Inside, the pub mixes bar games such as darts and pool with a kitchen serving burgers and wings. The decor is IU themed, with more than 50 TVs and an IU scoreboard. A 2017 Indiana Daily Student column also mentioned a patio.
The pub says it was voted best college bar in the country for 2025, though the page does not name who ran the vote. Its website also links to a menu, an online store, events, private events and a companion space called The Library.
