About Two Sticks Bakery
Two Sticks Bakery is a small, from-scratch bakery at 415 S. Washington Street, and it is women owned and operated. It opened in 2018 in the ground-floor retail space of a new infill apartment building, started by Amanda Armstrong and Kassie Jensen. The name comes from the two sticks of butter in a recipe.
The case holds morning pastries such as turnovers, danish and cinnamon rolls, savory hand pies, focaccia and scones, plus cookies, bars and cake by the slice. The bakery serves espresso drinks, drip coffee and housemade chai, made with its own blend from Quarrymen Coffee Roasting Company. It says it bakes with all-natural ingredients, food coloring included, and with local and organic products when possible.
The shop is more of a grab-and-go stop than a sit-down cafe. Custom cakes and pies are available, and special orders are placed by phone. The bakery lists Tuesday through Friday 7:30am-2pm and Saturday 7:30am-12pm, closed Sunday and Monday, though hours may change.
