About BRU Burger Bar Bloomington
BRU Burger Bar Bloomington is a burger restaurant at Third and Grant Streets, a short walk from the Indiana University campus.
Cunningham Restaurant Group opened it on February 26, 2024, as the company's 15th BRU location.
The menu is built around signature burgers, with sandwiches, appetizers, onion rings and fries. It also lists soft pretzels with beer cheese, an Impossible burger marked vegan, and a gluten-free menu.
The bar pours hand-dipped milkshakes and cocktails, along with locally brewed beer on tap, wine and spirits. Indoors there is seating for over 130, plus a covered patio with a retractable roof.
BRU lists group packages for carry-out. The restaurant lists Sunday to Thursday 11 AM to 9 PM and Friday and Saturday 11 AM to 10 PM, though hours can change. The company's announcement says Esquire named its honey chipotle BBQ burger Indiana's most outrageous burger.
BRU says it gives a 20% Heroes Discount every day to firefighters, first responders, police, active military members and veterans. Show a ticket from any sporting event in town and take 10% off the whole bill (alcohol excluded), valid only on the date printed on the ticket. There is also a hidden tiny cheeseburger somewhere in the restaurant, and whoever finds it wins a free appetizer or dessert.
