At the shelter, women and children sleep in family groups, eat congregate style, contribute to the upkeep of their own and group spaces, and take advantage of programs designed to help them move on with their lives.Middle Way House’s Rape Crisis Center provides 24-hour crisis intervention to victims and survivors of domestic violence, rape, sexual assault, incest, and sexual harassment. On-scene advocates respond to calls from the police department or area hospital emergency departments in the event of domestic violence or sexual assault.Building Healthy Relationships (BHR) is a four, five, and ten session interactive curriculum designed to prevent interpersonal dating, domestic, and sexual violence. Specially trained educators tailor presentations to fit the time frames and meet the specific needs of each audience. This program is offered to area middle schools, high schools, and youth-serving organizations.Food Works is a full service catering business owned and operated by Middle Way House since 2002. It was established to provide women with skills so they can be financially independent. Without that, many women remain in or return to abusive relationships.American Shredding has bonded employees who bring their truck to your home or business, pulverize your confidential documents on site, and deliver the pulverized paper to a recycler.Employees are selected from Middle Way House clients, and the owner returns a portion of the profits to MWH.
