New Hope Family Shelter’s mission is to provide temporary shelter for homeless families in Bloomington and Monroe County and, in collaboration with other agencies, to help those families regain housing by addressing the problems that led to homelessness.We expect some families to be ready to move on to independent housing quickly, within a few days, opening their place up to another family. Some families will need a longer stay, up to 90 days, to complete programs that prepare them for jobs, their own housing, and independence. Over the course of a year we will serve between 12 and 30 families. Our case manager will continue to work with families for up to a year after they leave New Hope.
Our services include a wide range of housing options, educational support from primary school through lifelong learning, technology assistance, healthcare coordination, behavioral support, and independently accredited employment programs. For families with caregiving responsibilities, we also offer respite programs to help you achieve balance.
