Bloomington's Elks Lodge No. 446, a fraternal and charitable organization in a historic 1938 building on North Walnut Street, with a lounge and community events.
About Elks Lodge
Elks Lodge No. 446 is Bloomington’s chapter of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE), a national fraternal and charitable organization. The lodge meets in its brick building at 400 N Walnut Street, a few blocks north of the Courthouse Square. The building was completed in 1938 and is protected as a City of Bloomington local historic district.
Members support local youth, veterans and families in need, with help from Elks National Foundation community grants, and the lodge takes part in the Elks Most Valuable Student scholarship program. The building also hosts community events open to the public, including the Bloomington Short List, a free, all-ages cabaret night with ten 10-minute acts on the third Saturday of each month. See the Bloomington events calendar for upcoming dates.
The lodge has a lounge that keeps afternoon and evening hours most days. Lodge meetings are held on the first and third Wednesdays of the month (first Wednesday only in July, August and December). For membership, events or current lounge hours, call 812-336-6387 or email elks446@gmail.com.
