Hive

Hive is a counter-service restaurant at 2608 E. 10th St. on Bloomington's east side, opened June 5, 2018 by One World Enterprises. The IU Foundation approached founder Jeff Mease in March 2017 about filling the then-empty building.

The menu is comfort food with an international flair. Mease made roast chicken a staple because it was uncommon in Bloomington, and the menu also has bowls, sandwiches, smashburgers, soups, desserts, a kids' menu, breakfast, brunch, espresso and a deli counter. Featured dishes include Chicken Frites, the Baja Bowl, a Reuben and the Yoga Bowl. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are available.

You can order at the counter and sit down, or order online for grab-and-go. There is a dog-friendly patio, on-site parking and catering, and no reservations. Hive says it emphasizes sustainability and recycles and composts.
