Avers Pizza South

Aver's Pizza South is the Winslow Road store of Aver's Gourmet Pizza, a Bloomington pizza shop that opened its South location in 2001. Founders Brad Randall and Kris Kaiser opened the first Aver's, on the north side, in 1995. The East location closed in August 2023, so the shop now has North and South stores.

The shop says it makes everything in-house each day, starting with its own soft, pan-style crust. The menu has 13 Signature Pies and a build-your-own option with 21 vegetable toppings, 10 meat and seafood choices, 12 sauces including three pestos, and 5 cheeses. Sides include breadsticks, salads and chicken wings. The crust is vegan, and there is a vegan pizza option. Aver's says its Cream & Crimson pizza won the Exotic Pizza category at the 1999 Pizza Festiva in Las Vegas.
