Book Corner

The Book Corner is a locally owned, independent bookstore at the corner of North Walnut and East Kirkwood in downtown Bloomington. James Spannuth founded it in 1964, and it has been serving Bloomington readers ever since.

It offers a curated selection of current bestsellers, classics, children’s books, magazines, puzzles, plush toys, greeting cards and gifts, and will special order a title it does not have in stock at no extra charge. Bloom magazine’s 50th anniversary story described a shop that matches customers with books and keeps an eye on what local readers are buying rather than national fads.
