About BuffaLouie’s

BuffaLouie’s is a wing restaurant in the historic Gables building at 114 S. Indiana Avenue in Bloomington. Jay Lieser, an Indiana University graduate from Buffalo, New York, founded it, and the restaurant is named for his grandfather, Louie Lieser. The family brought the Buffalo chicken wing to Bloomington, and burgers, fries and salads round out the menu.

The Gables was built in 1914 and was once the Book Nook, a student gathering spot. BuffaLouie’s describes it as a Spanish Colonial style building that generations of IU alumni remember. The restaurant moved in there in 2005.

Ed and Jaimie Schwartzman bought the business in 2010. Fox59 reports that USA Today named BuffaLouie’s one of the best wing spots in the country. You can order carryout or delivery through the company website, and the restaurant offers a full catering service. Its site lists hours of 10:30 am to 9 pm Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 am to 10 pm Friday and Saturday, which may change.
