Nick’s English Hut

It sits at 423 E. Kirkwood Avenue, and its liquor license dates to 1934.

The restaurant's motto is Peace, Love, and Strombolis, and the site lists daily, beverage and game day menus. It says it supports local farmers, with beef supplied by Fischer Farms in Jasper. Pizza ovens came in 1975.

The building grew room by room, with the Attic, Hump Room and Hoosier Room upstairs, plus a Wall of Fame signed by IU and Olympic athletes. After the 2005 smoking ban, Nick's opened its restaurant side to all ages, so families could come in. Rags and Susan began buying into the business that year and later bought the rest.

The site also sells Nick's merchandise. Posted hours include later nights on Fridays and Saturdays and a Monday closure, and they may change.
