Piccoli Dolci

Piccoli Dolci has made authentic Italian food in Bloomington since 2011, all from scratch. It began as a tiny business serving authentic Italian regional specialty cookies. It later added catering, wholesale, farmers' market sales and an eastside Market-Cafe on Pete Ellis Dr.

At the Market-Cafe you can find freshly baked bread, cornetti (Italian croissants), fresh fruit tarts and seasonally rotating sweet and savory pastries. There are also artisanal drinks, specialty cookies and take-home lunch and dinner items such as soups, gnocchi and lasagna, plus a curated selection of imported Italian goods. The shop's tarts also show up by the slice and whole at farmers' markets, grocery stores and other shops. Because everything is made from scratch, not every item is available all the time.

The cafe is at 223 South Pete Ellis Drive, Suite 27, and the business lists Thursday through Sunday, 10 to 2, which may change, so check its website or social pages. It also does catering for weddings, parties, showers and meetings, and the website takes online orders for Saturday pickup. Cooking classes run from time to time, with a wait-list for future sessions.
