Full Description

Robertson Harpsichords is the workshop of Teddi Jennifer Robertson, a self-taught builder who made her first harpsichord at age 14 and has spent over 45 years building, restoring, tuning, and decorating harpsichords, virginals, and clavichords in the style of historic originals.

Teddi studied music at IU’s Jacobs School and has served as an independent contractor maintaining instruments for IU’s Historical Performance Institute, with institutional clients including Indiana University, DePauw University, and Oklahoma Baptist University.

A signature touch is her hand-painted lid and soundboard artwork, reproducing period paintings on each instrument. Seana Garber Robertson manages business and office operations.

  • A gray harpsichord featuring a painted landscape inside the raised lid, reflecting the decorative craftsmanship of Robertson Harpsichords.
  • A traditional French-style harpsichord soundboard painting commission featuring delicate floral decoration in light blue, pink, and gray-white pastel colors.
