About Upland Brewery
Upland Brewing Co. calls its brewpub at 350 W. 11th Street, Bloomington, its headquarters and where it all started. The company was founded in 1998, and Upland says it has brewed local beer at this location since then. The brewpub began serving food the following year. The name comes from the Indiana Uplands, a region of southern Indiana.
The food menu is built around locally sourced ingredients and includes many vegetarian options. Upland says the spot is meant as a throwback to pubs of old, and the company has a Mug Club. The patio is open spring through fall and welcomes both people and dogs. The Wood Shop, Upland's sour-ale taproom, is next door. Among its beers, Upland brought back Champagne Velvet, a pre-Prohibition pilsner, after obtaining its 1901 recipe in 2012.
The brewpub offers carryout, reservations and private events. Posted hours are 11 am to 10 pm Sunday to Thursday and 11 am to 11 pm Friday and Saturday, with brunch Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 2 pm, though hours may change.
