El Compa Taqueria is a Mexican taqueria inside the Shell gas station at 4723 State Road 46, at the edge of Ellettsville, and locals nicknamed it Taco Shell.
The Herald-Times named birria the biggest hit in 2024, with birria chicken, ribs, ramen, burritos and tacos.
The street tacos come as al pastor, barbacoa, carne asada, carnitas or chicken, and there are lengua and alambre tacos too. Tamales, empanadas, quesadillas, enchiladas, rice, beans and horchata round out the menu.
The restaurant's site lists daily hours from 9 am to 8 pm and an Order Online button, though hours may change. In early 2024 the Herald-Times reported orders were in person only, so check the current ordering options.
