Stone Belt is a not-for-profit organization that provides education and support for individuals with disabilities. Established in 1958, we are the oldest and largest agency of our kind in south central Indiana. We offer a full range of programs and services for over 1,300 clients in Monroe, Lawrence, Owen, Bartholomew, and surrounding counties. Stone Belt’s services are accredited by CARF (formerly the Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities). We are an affiliate of The Arc of Indiana, NISH (formerly the National Industries for the Severely Handicapped) and United Way of Monroe County.

The company was founded by Steve Boltinghouse, who has been serving Monroe and surrounding counties since 1973. Steve has built a solid reputation on quality workmanship, outstanding service, and competitive pricing. Steve sold the company in November 2000 to Professional Contracting, LLC, which is owned by George Schermer. Since the transition, Steve has retired. George has committed himself and his employees to strive for the same quality, service and competitive pricing that Steve’s customers had come to appreciate. We deal directly and honestly with our customers to ensure they are satisfied. We rely on customer referrals for our continued success.Our approach to roofing is not solely based on quality products or service, but more on quality workmanship. Our crews are the best around because we train them. Our crew leaders attend regular seminars and training sessions to keep up with the changes of our industry. We have crews that specialize in steep-slope roofing, low-sloped roofing, metal roofing, service and repairs, and guttering.In September 2001, we relocated to Robinson Industrial Park on the Southwest side of Bloomington to expand our facilities and better meet the needs of our customers and employees.

Private apartments are available in a variety of styles and sizes. Sterling House is an intimate, single story building which makes all community areas easily accessible for individuals with limited mobility.
